18 athletes to represent Guyana at Islamic Solidarity Games

Come May 12-22,

Guyana will be represented by 18 athletes at the third annual Islamic Solidarity Games in In Baku, Azerbaijan according to the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) at a recent press conference.

Among the sport disciplines that will be contested by Guyana at the games are : Table tennis, Athletics, Swimming, Judo and Taekwondo.
The table tennis team will be led by National male champion Christopher Franklin and Trenance Lowe and includes Chelsea Edghill, Natalie Cummings, Nigel Bryan, Joel Allyne; the coach is Idi Lewis.
Winston George, Alita Moore, Natrena Hooper and Emmanuel Archibald are the track and field athletes, Desmond Amsterdam and Joel Williamson, the boxers, Joshua Buchanan and Erskine Trotman, the judokas, Earlando McRae and Andrew Fowler, the swimmers and Adrian Spellen and Jibreel Malik, the taekwondo athletes
Ramjeet Ramphal, coach of the taekwondo team, will serve as chef-de-mission.
