Nineteen-year-old Shaniya Godette, who was busted with a quantity of ganja on Wednesday, has been released on $40,000 when she appeared before Bartica Magistrate
Crystal Lambert to answer a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It has been reported that on Wednesday, between 20:00h and 20:30h, a team of Police ranks at the Bartica Stelling conducted searches on passengers travelling from Parika, and the search conducted on this female, a cook from New Amsterdam, Berbice, unearthed the ganja in a transparent plastic bag.
The teen was told of the offence committed, cautioned, and arrested. She admitted ownership of the ganja, indicating that the cannabis was for her personal use. The cannabis was weighed in her presence and amounted to 36 grams.
She will make her next court appearance on June 10 at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
