1E Software firm throws support behind DCC, MSC

Guyanese-born UK-based former athlete Waveney Benn has garnered donations for the two local cricket clubs as part of their expansion of the sport.
The support came from the UK software firm 1E, which assisted two of Guyana’s top clubs — the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and the Malteenoes Cricket Club (MSC).
The donation, which came in the form of cricket gear such as bats and cricket shoes among other things, is geared towards helping budding young cricketers to further their careers in a more professional, comfortable manner.

Waveney Benn is a former track star who excelled in middle distance competition back in the early 70s and 80s. She is considered to be a regular who is no stranger to rendering assistance to her home country as it relates to sports development.
Benn had, in the past, benefited from the benevolence of the software firm, and she believes that more emphasis should be placed on athletes of all sports, adding that her means of giving back was reinforced by her experiences in her younger days as an upcoming athlete.
