2 arrested for assaulting peacemaker

Two men, a 21-year-old and a 29-year-old, were taken into custody on Sunday after they reportedly assaulted a construction worker at Matthew’s Ridge, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini).
The assault was committed on 43-year-old Vindon Nurse of North East La Penitence, Georgetown.
Based on information received, Nurse was on his bed at the Matthew’s Ridge Primary School, which is currently under construction, when he observed the two males involved in a violent altercation.
In an attempt to bring peace between the two men, he went over to speak with them but instead he was attacked and assaulted by the two Spanish-speaking men to a point of unconsciousness.
He was subsequently taken to the Pakera District Hospital, where he was seen and admitted a patient.
The suspects were arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigation
