2 busted with ganja, armed robbery suspect arrested during Police operations

Police in Georgetown on Thursday conducted raids in Leopold Street, Middle Road McDoom, Georgetown, and B Field Sophia Squatting area, Greater Georgetown, respectively, where a quantity of cannabis was found.

The first operation was conducted at a house in Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, where a search was conducted and one white plastic bag containing 121 transparent Ziplock bags containing the ganja was discovered.
Police said they also found $1400 cash. The narcotics were weighed and amounted to 198 grams. As a consequence, two men were arrested, and placed in custody at Brickdam Police Station pending investigations.
Meanwhile, the second operation was conducted at a home in Middle Road McDoom, where a female resident confessed to ownership of a bag containing a quantity of cannabis. Police said a cannabis plant was also found in the home.
The woman was arrested and escorted to the Ruimveldt Police Station along with the cannabis, pending charges.
Meanwhile, at a home of a pensioner on Independence Boulevard, a suspect who is wanted for an alleged robbery under arms was arrested and escorted to Brickdam Police Station where he is being interrogated.
Several other homes were searched, but nothing illegal was found.
