Two men were taken into custody after they were intercepted with a quantity of ganja during an operation by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) in Orange Walk, Georgetown on Tuesday.
Akeem Henry, 25, of Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown and Ryan Marks, 27, who has no fixed place of abode, were arrested in the vicinity of Bourda Market, with a bag containing several “brick-like” parcels.
As such, they were taken to the CANU headquarters where the parcels of cannabis were weighed and amounted to 2.650 kilogram with a street value of $800,000.
The men are expected to be charged later in the week.
