2 charged for armed robbery committed on businessman
Two men who executed a daring robbery on a businessman at Friendship, Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD), were remanded to prison when they appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Andrew McPherson, 23, of Princes Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, along with 22-year-old Alex Joseph of D’Urban Street, Georgetown, were not required to plea to the charge when it was read to them by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
Reports are that on June 17, 2020, the businessman was sitting under a shed chatting with friends when McPherson walked into the yard and demanded that he hand over his cellphone.
After some resistance, McPherson relieved the businessman of his cellphone and made good his escape in a white 212 motor car driven by his accomplice, Joseph.
Magistrate Azore remanded both men to prison until June 29, 2020.
