Home News 2 charged for assaulting Police Officers
Stephan Amore and David Rose were on Friday arraigned before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly on separate charges of assaulting a Police officer. Amore admitted to his charge, but Rose denied any involvement in his incident. The court heard that on July 10, in the vicinity of Orange Walk, Bourda, Amore assaulted a female Police corporal. It was also alleged that on the said day, while in the vicinity of Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Rose assaulted Constable Denford Rankin with intent to cause him actual bodily harm. Two other charges were read to Rose, detailing that on the same day, he resisted being arrested by Constable Rankin, and behaved in a disorderly manner. The Police prosecutor did not object to Rose bail placed on bail, and Rose was placed on bail in the sum of $10,000 for the disorderly behaviour charge; $30,000 on the resisting arrest charge, and $40,000 on assaulting the Police charge. He will make his next court appearance on July 16. Amore, meanwhile, was fined $10,000 for assaulting the female Police officer.
