2-in-2 losses for Junior Jags at CFU Challenge series

Guyana’s U14 team that played against Antigua and Barbuda on Friday

It was not the start they envisioned for Guyana’s National Under- 14 football team, who suffered back- to- back losses in their first two games of the Caribbean Football Union’s (CFU) U14 Challenge series.
On Friday afternoon, Guyana suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Antigua and Barbuda, after which the team fell to a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of Barbados on Saturday morning, both at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima Trinidad and Tobago.
However, following the first loss, Guyana Football Federation (GFF) President Wayne Forde was not too disappointed given that it is the team’s first international outing.
Forde shared via a missive, ““This is their first exposure internationally and they have so much to learn from the entire experience “While this result is disappointing, we are proud of our boys for showing resilience and fighting until the final whistle. These early challenges are part of the journey, and we are confident they will bounce back stronger in their upcoming matches.”
The Junior Jaguars will take on St. Vincent and the Grenadines next on Monday, August 19.
