2 Lindeners remanded for robbing supermarket

Two Lindeners were on Friday remanded to prison by Magistrate Wanda Fortune when they appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court charged with armed robbery and conspiracy-related charges.
The duo, 19-year-old Shamar Prince of Self-Help Scheme, Amelia’s Ward, Linden, and 23-year-old Schimell Doris of Lot 1692 Central Amelia’s Ward, was remanded to prison. Doris was charged along with Prince for conspiracy to commit an armed robbery while Prince was charged with robbery under arms at an Amelia’s Ward Chinese-owned supermarket. The charge against Prince stated that on August 27, he robbed the Xing Wang supermarket of $950,000 and an iPhone 6S valued $80,000, while he was armed with a gun in the presence of others. The cash and phone, which amounted to a total value of $1,030,000, were the property of Guan Xiang.
Meanwhile, the charge against the duo is that they conspired along with others to commit an armed robbery at the said supermarket. The case will continue on September 28, 2020 (G13)
