A brief court hearing for 21-year-old Shaquille Thomas was conducted by Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus. He is charged with two counts of robbery.
The first charge read that on August 21, at America Street, Georgetown, while in the company of others, he robbed Steven Deosorran of a computer bag worth $10,000, $1500 in books and pens, and $2500 in cash.
It was further alleged that on the same day at the same location, he robbed Shamar Richards of one Samsung Galaxy A10 phone valued $41,000, one black handbag worth $2000, and $400 in books and pen. The accused pleaded not guilty to both charges after they were read to him by the Magistrate.
Bail for Jones was set at $30,000 on each of the two charges. The matter continues on September 6.

On bail: Shaquille Thomas

Meanwhile, in another case, a Market Street, East La Penitence resident was remanded to prison on a robbery under arms charge. Emanuel Larry, 33, a vendor, also appeared before Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus.
The defendant denied the charge which stated that on August 16 at Regent Street, Georgetown, while in the company of another, he robbed Anthony Boodram of a Samsung A20 phone valued at $51,000, $25,000 in cash, a gold chain with a pendant, and a wrist watch – all totalling $106,400.
The Police prosecutor told the court that on the day in question, Boodram was walking down Regent Street, when Larry walked up to him, held him at gunpoint, and relieved him of the items mentioned in the charge. The prosecutor said that the defendant was positively identified by the virtual complainant.
However, Larry, during his address to the court, denied robbing the man. He too will return to court on September 6.
