Two men who Police allegedly held with 22 grams of marijuana have been granted $10,000 bail. Akeem Northe, 32, a labourer of Camp and Bent Streets, Georgetown, who was caught with 15 grams of marijuana, is charged with trafficking in narcotics.
Meanwhile, 32-year-old Jermaine Richard of C Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, who was busted with seven grams of marijuana, is charged with possession of narcotics.
The charges were contrary to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (Control) Act.
Both Northe and Richard appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan. They pleaded not guilty to their respective charges.
They were each admitted to $5000 bail. They return to court on September 7 for their trial. (G1)
