2 slapped with DUI charges

Two persons were charged for failing the breathalyser tests that were administered by the ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF).
Charged are Shazad Khan, 26, of St Martyr Ville, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD); and Ricardo Stephen Singh, 19, of Better Hope, ECD.
Police said Khan was stopped on the Mon Repos Public Road, ECD, while Singh was stopped on the Beterverwagting Public Road, ECD.
Khan, when stopped, was found with 175 per cent micrograms of alcohol in his breath, while Singh was found with 185 per cent micrograms in his breath.
The duo was arrested, charged, and processed to attend the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
Just a few weeks ago three persons were arrested and charged for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Those charged were Ion Degonge, 42, of Lot 385 Swamp Section Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice; Troy Gonsalves, 33, of Industry, ECD, and Parmanand Sharma, 33, of Area H Top Flat Cummings Lodge, ECD.
They were all stopped on the Sparendaam Public Road, ECD. Degonge, when stopped, was found with 250 per cent micrograms of alcohol in his breath, Gonsalves was found with 189 per cent micrograms, while Sharma had 142 per cent micrograms of alcohol in his breath. (G9)
