Home News 2 slapped with larceny, break and enter charges
Delvin Heywood appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday where he was slapped with a larceny charge by clerk or servant committed on Banks DIH Limited.
Police stated that on December 24, 2020, Heywood was employed as a clerk by Banks DIH Limited where he was allowed to collect monies on the company’s behalf.
On the day in question, at Alberttown, Georgetown, he received a sum of $233,220 from Natasha Dasrat on behalf of the beverage company which he stole with the intention of permanently depriving the said company. Heywood then charged the said amount to the customer’s account.
Heywood pleaded guilty to the charge and was granted bail for the sum of $50,000.
As a condition for bail, Heywood is expected to report to the CID Headquarters fortnightly. He is set to return to court on April 30, 2021.
Meanwhile, Attie Trotz also appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to a break and enter charge.
She pleaded not guilty and was placed on $50,000 bail. However, Trotz indicated that she was unable to raise the required bail amount and as such, she was remanded to New Amsterdam Prison until April 30, 2021.
Based on the charge, it is alleged that between March 5 and 6, 2021, on South Road, Bourda, Georgetown, Trotz, while in the company of others, broke and entered a store/stall and stole 72 glass mugs valued at $144,000.
