2-year-old among 2 retested positive with COVID-19 at Bartica

Two persons, including a two-year-old child, have retested positive with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni). The two persons are relatives of the country’s 14th COVID-19 death, 34-year-old Abdool Khan – a father of three who died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on July 2.
On Friday, the Regional Health Emergency Committee (RHEC) headed by Regional Executive Officer (REO), Kerwin Ward, said that public sensitisation, enforcement of the COVID-19 prevention strategies and the preparation of facilities have been undertaken.
The Committee stated that some projects that were undertaken due to COVID-19 were sensitisation to the dangers of COVID-19.
