The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Saturday said they have since launched an investigation into the murder which occurred at about 18:30h.
Reports are the suspects went to Solomon’s home, after a further confrontation over the old grievance on Friday.
The dead man’s mother told investigators that her son was sitting in front of their home when the suspects approached and rushed towards him. According to her, they were all armed with knives and they began stabbing about his body. This caused him to fall to the ground, as the trio made good their escape on foot.
Solomon was picked up by his mother with the help of public-spirited persons and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body was then escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination (PME).
Based on further information provided, Police went to the homes of the suspects at Belle West, WCD, where one of the suspects was told of the allegation and he admitted under caution that on Friday Solomon had hit him with a piece of wood, causing him to receive injuries to his face and left hand.
In his confession, the man claimed that he went home and complained to his two brothers, who went with him to Solomon’s home and confronted him. He was subsequently taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was examined by a doctor. He remains in Police custody assisting with investigations.
Shortly after his arrest, the other two suspects were handed over to the Police by their mother. Investigations are ongoing. (G9)
