200 Region 3 residents benefit from medical outreach
Several organisations, including the Guyana Cancer Foundation and the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG), on Sunday last conducted a medical outreach in Westminster, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), which saw some 200 residents benefitting.
Members of the community were provided with pressure and glucose testing, HIV and STI testing, general check-ups on the spot, and free psychological consultation.
The Guyana Cancer Foundation provided the medical team to administer the various testing at the outreach. Prescription and over-the-counter medication were provided by Massy Distribution and the RHO District in Region Three.
Diapers for both children and adults were also distributed to the villagers, along with clothing which was provided by CIOG.
In addition, COVID-19 vaccines were also being administered at the outreach.
The outreach was organised by Devica Hassan with assistance from many organisations like the US Embassy Civil Affairs Team, the Guyana Medical Relief, the National Blood Transfusion Service, and the National AIDS Secretariat.
