23 detained for ganja bust

The Police have detained 23 passengers following the discovery of 112 grams of cannabis in a truck at Sherima Checkpoint on Tuesday.
Police stated that motor lorry bearing registration number GAB 3988 which was carrying a total of 23 passengers was stopped at the Sherima Checkpoint and searched during which two transparent plastic wraps containing cannabis were found in its tray.

A further search unearthed a biscuit box with two transparent plastic wraps with another quantity of ganja.
A 19-year-old who was among the 23 passengers admitted ownership of the narcotic that was found in the tray of the lorry. It was weighed in his presence and amounted to 47 grams.
He and the remaining passengers were arrested as Police seek to ascertain the owner(s) of the outstanding two parcels of cannabis which weighed 65 grams.
