Curwin Estwick, also known as Timothy Estwick, on Wednesday denied a charge of conspiracy to commit a felony in the torching of a car at Linden.
It is alleged that the 25-year-old man conspired with others to torch the car belonging to ex-cop Teon Allen, also known as “Spoil Child”. Allen himself has had several charges instituted against him and is currently before the court for various offences. Estwick, of Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was charged in connection with the incident which occurred on September 10, 2019. It is alleged that he conspired along with other unknown persons to unlawfully and maliciously damage the ex- cop’s car, PXX4598, at Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden. The car is valued $ 2.4 million. Estwick, who appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Dylon Bess, was previously granted $300,000 bail by Magistrate Wanda Fortune on December 3, 2019. The sum was reduced to $250,000 by Magistrate Bess on Wednesday following a request for a reduction. Estwick, who, on his appearances, is assisted by crutches due to injuries he allegedly sustained from being shot, was ordered to report to the Mackenzie Police Station Criminal Investigations Department (CID) every Friday until the competition of his trial. Also, as a condition for bail, Estwick is also required to lodge his passport with the court. The accused was previously not required to plead to the indictable charge. The case will continue on January 21.
