256 grams marijuana found at Stabroek Market stall

A foot patrol exercise by ranks of the Guyana Police Force at the Stabroek Market unearthed 256 grams of marijuana at one of the stalls.
On Saturday, between 06:40h and 08:35h, ranks of A Division conducted the exercise, where several persons were stopped and searched. However, nothing unlawful was found.
Subsequently, the said ranks conducted searches between and around several stalls in the area, during which a quantity of ganja was found in a black plastic bag at the side of a stall.
The cannabis was taken to the Brickdam Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to 256 grams. Investigations are ongoing.
