3 charged in connection with missing CID drugs bailed

The three men, including an ex-Cop held in connection with some 588 grams of cocaine which went missing from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters last month, were on Tuesday granted bail when they appeared at the High Court.
The ex-Cop, 21-year-old Louie Dublin; 28-year-old Delvor Bunbury; and Gavin Harris were charged and were all remanded to prison after they pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
It is alleged that they were found to be in possession of 588 grams of cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) on March 17, 2017 for the purpose of trafficking.
Bunbury and Harris were accused of handing the bag containing the narcotics to the ex-Cop.
On the day of their arrest, a sting operation was carried out by ranks at the Lotus Restaurant and Bar located at CJIA, when the former officer was found with a bag containing the cocaine.
Following his arrest, he reportedly gave Police a caution statement revealing that the bag was given to him by the other two defendants, Harris and Bunbury.
Bunbury was placed on bail for that matter and was later slapped with another trafficking charge.
In that matter, he denied that on September 11, 2017, at Bel Air, Georgetown, he had 1.858 kilograms of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The illegal substance is related to the case involving ex-Policeman Travis Mendonca, who was only recently sentenced to three years in prison after almost four pounds of cocaine was discovered stashed in a false bottom of his suitcase.
On September 27, 2017, however, the 588 grams of cocaine which the three were charged with being in possession of, went missing from CID Headquarters.
