Police in a statement late Friday evening said the driver of the lorry related to investigators that he was proceeding South along the eastern side of the road when his vehicle developed mechanical problems. Police said the driver further related that upon investigating, he discovered the car had collided into his truck. He further related that the car had five male occupants – all of whom appeared seriously injured.
With the assistance of passersby, all except one who was motionless, were rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex, where two were pronounced dead on arrival. The other succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
