3 Guyanese in CWI President’s XI Squad

Guyanese Chandrapaul Hemraj, Keon Joseph and Vishual Singh were named in the Windies 13-member Cricket West Indies (CWI) President’s XI squad to face the Sri Lankans in a three-Day Tour Match.
The match, which bowls off today, Wednesday, May 30, at the Brian Lara Cricket Ground in Trinidad and Tobago, features a strong Windies team that are led by Kieran Powell and boasts players such as Jermaine Blackwood, Shamarh Brooks, and Guyana Jaguars franchise player Raymon Reifer.
The trio of Guyanese have been regular faces in the Windies A team as of recent with Singh going on to play a few Tests for the West Indies. The aggressive opener Hemraj dominated the 2017/18 Professional Cricket League (PCL) with more than 600 runs before being drafted to the Windies A side.

Joseph, the right-arm speedster, is a regular feature in the West Indies development teams or in the A side. Meanwhile, the team are coached by former West Indies Test Captain Floyd Reifer with Guyanese Rayon Griffith as his deputy. Also, Richard Pybus will accompany the unit in his capacity as High Performance Director.
