Three men are now in hot water after one was seen throwing an unlicensed firearm, which had several live rounds, through a window when the ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) turned up at a residence in Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Those in custody are a 36-year-old who resides at the premises; a 24-year-old of Kitty, Georgetown, and a 21-year-old, also of Crane Housing Scheme, WCD.
According to reports, at about 13:30h on Saturday, ranks acting on information visited the residence to conduct a search of the premises.
While conducting a search on the occupants of the home, the 24-year-old Kitty resident was reportedly seen throwing “an object” through one of the windows.
Upon noticing the man’s action, one of the police officers quickly made his way outside of the house to retrieve the item. It was discovered that the man threw out a .32 Taurus pistol. The trio all denied ownership of the gun. They were arrested and taken to the La Grange Police Station, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Meanwhile, the firearm with the 11 matching rounds of ammunition, was lodged at the police station as investigations continue.
