3 killed in Linden/ Soesdyke Highway crash

Three persons are now dead following a crash on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway in the vicinity of Moblissa on Friday evening.
Initial reports reaching Guyana Times revealed that a Route 72 (Mahdia/Georgetown) minibus was heading to Georgetown when it collided into a truck transporting logs. The truck was parked near the Moblissa Bridge, while the bus was travelling from Takuba Lodge, Konawaruk Mining District.accident-2
This newspaper understands that when the bus slammed into the truck its roof was ripped off before turning over and pinning several passengers, including the three deceased, who reportedly died on the spot.
While the identities of those deceased persons were not available up to press time, this publication was able to ascertain that they were two males and a female, who is said to be the wife of the minibus driver.
The driver and another passenger were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and are listed a stable, while several others were rushed to the Linden Hospital.
