A woman and two men are currently in Police custody after they were busted at D’Urban Street, Georgetown and Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD) in separate Police operations.
Reports are about 16:45h, Police, acting on information received, went to the home of a 33-year-old woman at D’Urban Street, Georgetown where they conducted a search.
According to Police, about 80 pounds of marijuana was found in the house. Two men, both unemployed, were in the house at the time of the search.
One of the men lives on the ECD while the other lives in Charlestown, Georgetown. The woman is employed as a clerk. Additionally, 390 grams of marijuana was
found in the possession of the ECD man.
Police stated that the ganja was found in two barrels and a box wrapped in several packages.
Meanwhile, a 51-year-old driver/salesman of John Street, Georgetown was also arrested after a parcel of 284 grams of suspected cannabis was found in his vehicle.
Police, acting on information received on Tuesday, intercepted the vehicle at Perth Village, Mahaicony, around 08:00h. They subsequently conducted a search and found the parcel containing 284 grams of suspected cannabis. All of the suspects are being processed for court.
