3 nabbed after robbing Brazilian national at gunpoint

Three men were arrested on Monday following an armed robbery committed on a Brazilian national at Puruni Trail, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni). Following their arrests, the Police recovered four gold rings, two gold bracelets, six gold chains, five cellular phones and $44,000 in cash.
Preliminary investigations revealed that on Sunday at about 16:00h, the victim had just left Puruni Landing on his All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), and was driving along the Puruni Trail when he was ambushed by the three suspects – one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The men reportedly held him at gunpoint and demanded that he hand over his valuables.
Out of fear, the victim complied and handed over the items mentioned and $70,000 cash.
After committing the act, the men then made good their escape on foot towards Puruni Landing. The matter was reported, and based on information received, a team of Police ranks stopped a passenger car along the Puruni Trail with two of the suspects as occupants. Upon interrogation, the two suspects provided information that led to the apprehension of the third suspect at Puruni Landing.
The above-stated items were found divided among the suspects, who have all confessed to the robbery and are being grilled in relation to other robberies, as the investigation continues.
