302 traffic violation cases recorded in 1 day

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported a total of 302 traffic violation cases on Monday,
Among these cases were 59 instances of exceeding the speed limit and six cases of Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
The number of violations has prompted intensified enforcement measures, coupled with sustained education programmes aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility and compliance with traffic laws.
The Police Force has been conducting lectures in schools, educating drivers, and engaging with bar owners, as well as individuals gathered at entertainment spots across the country.
The education programmes stress that speeding is never the answer and driving under the influence is never an option. Road safety, as reiterated in the campaign, is everyone’s business.

The Force is urging all citizens to take road safety seriously. By adhering to speed limits, avoiding driving under the influence, and respecting fellow road users, individuals can contribute significantly to reducing accidents and saving lives.
Just days ago, the GPF announced that 494 traffic cases were recorded across all Regional Police Divisions in Guyana in a single day.
Among those cases were 120 for speeding violations, and 10 drivers were apprehended for DUI.
The Police Force has also announced that it has set up suggestion boxes, and collaboration with members of the Regional Road Safety Councils and other partners is ongoing. These initiatives are all aimed at fostering a positive shift in the mindset of motorists and enhancing public safety on the roadways.
