Four persons were on Wednesday arrested after they were busted with a quantity of ganja in their possession following separate Police operations.

According to information received, around 14:00h on the day in question, Police, acting on information, intercepted a motor car at 31 Miles, Ituni Road, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) and conducted a search.
The search reportedly unearthed 61 parcels of suspected cannabis amounting to 9071 grams (9.07 kilograms). The ganja was concealed in the panels of the motor car’s doors and also in a spare wheel. Two males were taken into Police custody.
Meanwhile, around 21:00h on the same day, Police, acting on information received, went to a shop at Kumaka Water Front, Mabaruma, Region One (Barima-Waini), and conducted a search, which uncovered 139 grams of the illegal plant.

The male owner of the business and a female vendor were arrested and were assisting with investigations.
