Four persons – two males and two females – were on Wednesday hauled before the court on cross charges of threatening and abusive language.
Seopersaud Kailas, 40; Surajuni Ram, 22; Kavita Rajaram, 32, and Carlos Duncan all appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to the offences.
Kailas denied the charges, which stated that on November 11, 2018 at North Sophia, Greater Georgetown, he made use of threatening language as well as abusive language towards Rajaram.
It was alleged that Ram on November 11, 2018 at North Sophia, made use of abusive language towards Rajaram. Ram denied the charge.
It was further alleged that Duncan, also on November 11 at the same location, made use of threatening language as well as abusive language towards Rajaram. He denied the allegation.
Rajaram, on the other hand, was charged for using abusive language towards Ram, on the same date and location. She also denied this charge.
As a result, both Kailas and Duncan were granted $20,000 bail while Ram and Rajaram were released on $10,000 bail.
