Four individuals are facing charges in connection with the seizure of over 31 kilograms (kg) of cocaine on Monday, December 29, 2025, on the East Coast of Demerara. 
Andre Moonilall and Sherwin Laundry appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court Number One on Wednesday, December 31, where they pleaded not guilty to the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Bail was denied for both, and they were remanded to prison until February 9, 2026.
On the same day, Jermin Adams and Amanda Lam also appeared before Magistrate Nurse, pleading not guilty to charges of aiding in the trafficking of 31.452 kg of cocaine. Bail was similarly denied, and they were remanded until February 9, 2026.
The charges follow a CANU operation on Broad Street, Montrose, East Coast Demerara. Acting on intelligence, officers intercepted a motor vehicle and discovered 27 brick-like parcels containing a total of 31.452 kg of cocaine. Moonilall, Adams, Laundry, and Lam were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the seized narcotics.
