4 Essequibians slapped with unlawful wounding charges 

Two separate unlawful wounding cases were heard this week at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon–Supenaam), resulting in one defendant being remanded and mixed bail outcomes for three others.
In the first matter, 23-year-old Trisa Campbell, an unemployed resident of Onderneeming Sand Pit on the Essequibo Coast, was charged with unlawful wounding committed against Davahan Campbell, a 26-year-old miner of the same community. The offence allegedly occurred on Friday, December 13, 2025, at Onderneeming Sand Pit.
The charge was laid under Section 30(b) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02. Campbell appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, when the charge was read to her. She pleaded not guilty. Bail was objected to by the prosecution, and the defendant was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to February 13, 2026, for disclosure of statements.
In a separate case, three men were jointly charged with unlawful wounding arising from an incident that allegedly occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Old Market Road, Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast. The alleged victim was identified as Devonte Pearson.

Those charged are Beshan Bhowan, a 29-year-old self-employed resident of Aberdeen; Beshaun Bhowan, also a 29-year-old self-employed resident of Aberdeen; and Mahindra Chanderdeo, a 36-year-old welder of Affiance Back Street. All charges were brought under Section 30(b) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
The defendants appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Each pleaded not guilty to the charge. Beshaun Bhowan and Mahindra Chanderdeo were granted bail in the sum of $300,000 each, while Beshan Bhowan who was initially remanded to prison was subsequently granted bail.
That matter was adjourned to January 14, 2026, at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court for disclosure of statements.
