Reports are that the fire started at about 20:00h in one of the bedrooms and quickly razed the house.
The occupants of the house would have lost all their personal belongings along with household items. As such, they are contemplating their next move. One of the occupants told this newspaper that he was renting the house.
He pointed out that the fire might have been caused by an electrical issue, given that there were several issues with the wiring in the house which was brought to the attention of the landlord on many occasions.
However, the fire tenders took some time to arrive at the scene, and as such, by the time they arrived, the entire house had been already engulfed by flames.
Only on Friday last, several persons were left homeless after a fire of unknown origin destroyed a family property at Lot 328 Sachibazaar and Rohinital Streets, Prashad Nagar, Georgetown.
