A driver and his three passengers are now in Police custody after they were caught with an unlicensed firearm along with matching cartridges in a car on Sunday.

According to Police, the men were travelling along the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) at about 00:26h, when police ranks acting on information intercepted a motor car at the Good Hope Public Road, ECD.
A search was conducted and an unlicensed custom-made shotgun and three live cartridges were found in the vehicle’s trunk.
The driver and his three passengers were immediately arrested and are said to be assisting with the investigation.
