Over 3800 students of the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) will graduate next Tuesday during the institution’s fourth graduation ceremony at the National Cultural Centre.
The event, which will be held under the theme “Academic Acceleration for National Development”, will take place in two sessions and will bring the total number of GOAL graduates to 14,071 since the programme was launched in 2021.
According to GOAL, the 2026 graduating class comprises 3866 scholars across a range of academic programmes.
The morning session, scheduled to begin at 09:00h, will see 1150 students graduating from the GROW programme, 1308 from certificate programmes, 76 from diploma programmes, and 61 from associate degree programmes.
The afternoon session, beginning at 13:00h, will include 392 graduates from Bachelor’s Degree programmes, 14 from Postgraduate Diploma programmes, 830 from Master’s Degree programmes, and 35 from Doctoral Degree programmes.
Since its establishment, GOAL has provided educational opportunities to 54,793 Guyanese through partnerships with 38 local, regional and international institutions. The programme offers access to studies at the certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Director of GOAL, Dr Jacob Opadeyi, said the achievements of the graduates demonstrate the opportunities education can create for individuals, families and communities.
