5 charged for DUI on ECD corridor

Police on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) have arrested and charged five more men during the past week for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Charged: Rakesh (only name), Anthony Lewis, Vickram Latchman, George Edward, Feroze Mohamed

Those charged were Feroze Mohamed, 23, of Cummings Lodge, Greater Georgetown; Rakesh (only name), 40, of Le Ressouvenir, ECD; Anthony Lewis, 29, of Sunflower Street, Melanie, ECD; Vickram Latchman, 26, of David and Lamaha Streets, Kitty, Georgetown, and George Edward, 51, of Annandale Public Road, ECD.
The men were all arrested on separate occasions, charged, and processed to attend the Sparendaam and Cove and John Magistrate’s Courts on the ECD.
Police said Mohammed was arrested on the Plaisance Public Road, ECD. He was charged and processed to attend the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court. Rakesh was arrested on the La Bonne Intention (LBI) Public Road. He was also charged and processed to attend the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
Lewis was arrested on the Mon Repos Public Road, ECD, and was also charged and processed to attend the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, Latchman and Edward were both caught on the Bee Hive access road, ECD. They were both charged and processed to attend the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court. (G9)
