Five Cubans who were caught by Police hiding in a clump of bushes in Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice), were arrested and handed over to immigration officials.
Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Hugh Winter, when contacted, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. This newspaper was told that the Cubans were found hiding in a clump of bushes in the vicinity of the Constabulary Compound at Mackenzie, Linden. It is suspected that the Cubans may have entered Guyana illegally. They were transported to the Immigration Department in Georgetown. (G13)
