A 34-year-old man of Diamond, East Bank Demerara was on Wednesday hauled before city Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for the embezzlement of some million.

Naipaul Harry denied the charge which stated that between May 1 and May 31, 2016, while being in the position of a bailey and employed by Ramgobin Mohalall, he fraudulently embezzled $4,977,000, monies taken in possession by him, on behalf of his employer.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne made no objection to bail, provided that same was granted in a substantial sum. The unrepresented man was released on $250,000 bail. The case will continue June 7.
