5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey: Guyana Men’s 3×3 National Basketball Team to compete

The Guyana Men’s 3×3 National Basketball Team will begin their campaign to earn 3×3 basketball gold at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey on Sunday, August 14th, when they come up against Mauritania at 11:15AM (Turkey time) at the Karatay Sports and Congress Center.
The men’s 3×3 basketball competition will have 20 teams playing in a league-style (round robin comprising 4 groups with 5 teams each) that leads directly to singles’ elimination. The top two teams of each group would advance to the quarter-finals, while the third-place team of each group would play for 9th–12th places.
The bottom two (2) teams of each group would be classified based on wins, head-to-head records, and points scored for 13th–20th places.
Guyana is placed in Group B, alongside Iran, Maldives, Mauritania and Uganda. Other teams in the competition are:
*Group A: Jordan, Libya, Palestine, Senegal, Qatar
*Group B: Iran, Guyana, Maldives, Mauritania, Uganda
*Group C: Azerbaijan, Gabon, Mali, Morocco, Turkey
*Group D: Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Sudan, Suriname.
Team Guyana would comprise Stanton Rose Jr., Nikkoloi Smith, Harold Adams, and Travis Belgrave. The 3×3 Coordinator joining the team is Junior Hercules.

* Aug. 16 – 17:45 – Iran vs Guyana
