6 more COVID-19 deaths recorded

The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported that another six persons who tested positive for COVID-19 have succumbed, thus taking the death toll to 1154.
The fatalities are a 57-year-old man and a 86-year-old woman of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) and an 89-year-old woman from Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) who all died on January 25. On January 26, a 71-year-old female of Region 10 along with a 70-year-old male of Region Four died while on January 22, a 42-year-old woman of Region One (Barima-Waini) died.

A total of 424 new cases were detected, taking the total positives recorded to date to 58,196. There are 19 persons in the ICU, 166 in institutional isolation, 12,762 in home isolation, and 26 in institutional quarantine. Recoveries stand at 44,095.
