Six persons, including a female, were taken into Police custody following the discovery of a quantity of compressed marijuana at Itabali Puruni Road, Mazaruni River.

Guyana Times understands that on Monday, Police ranks stationed at the checkpoint at Itabali stopped and searched a vehicle. A thorough search unearthed 662 grams of compressed marijuana wrapped in cotton.
The speaker box in which 557 grams of cannabis was found
Another 557 grams of the illegal substance was found hidden in a speaker box belonging to one of the suspects. The six persons were told of the offence and taken into custody.
A case file was prepared and sent for advice in relation to the charges that will be instituted against the suspects.
