A 60-year-old man was on Monday morning arrested after more than 27 kilograms of cannabis were found hidden in a freezer at his East Coast Demerara home. 
Reports are that an intelligence-led operation saw members of the Police Narcotics Branch visiting the man’s home at Haslington, ECD, where a search was conducted and five well taped parcels of the compressed marijuana were unearthed.
The sexagenarian is expected to make his court appearance at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court today. The Police are, however, continuing their investigations into the discovery.
