7 locals headline Golden Jaguars team for CNL home leg

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) on Tuesday unveiled a 22-member squad for the Senior Men’s National Football team’s remaining Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Nations League 2026/27 games on home soil.

The Golden Jaguars will complete their CONCACAF Nations League Group matches with a two-game home leg

The Golden Jaguars will ignite the National Track and Field Centre (NTFC) at Leonora, West Coast Demerara (WCD), on November 12 and 16 in their push towards a spot at the top of Group A in League B and an automatic spot in next year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The Golden Jaguars squad reads:
Goalkeepers – Grant Wyles, Akel Clarke, and Quillian Roberts
Defenders – Kalen Jones, Liam Gordon, Leo Lovell, Raushaun Ritch, Terrence Vancooten, and Imani Barker
Midfielders – Nathan Ferguson, Nathan Moriah-Welsh, Elliot Bonds, Curtez Kellman, Darron Niles, and Stephen Duke-McKenna
Forwards – Omari Glasgow, Kelsey Banjamin, Isaiah Jones, Osaze DeRosario, Margan Ferrier, Enoch George, and Deon Moore.
The team will be led by Head Coach Marco Bonofiglio.
Currently leading Group A with a perfect 12 points from four games played, the National team will look to close out an unbeaten run this season. They will first come up against the Cayman Islands on Thursday, November 12, before turning their attention to Puerto Rico on Monday, November 16. Both games are scheduled to kick off at 15:00h.
On the Group A points table, Puerto Rico sit in second place with nine points from four games, their only loss being a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Guyana in September. Both the Cayman Islands and Dominica have one point from a drawn encounter against each other.
If the Golden Jaguars maintain their current position and go on to top their group, they will advance to the league’s championship to compete for the title of League B Champions and seal promotion to League A in the 2027/28 CNL season. In addition, those top four teams [group winners] in League B will directly qualify for the 2027 CONCACAF Gold Cup, while the two best group runners-up will secure a spot in the 2027 CONCACAF Gold Cup Prelims.
