During the commissioning ceremony, the Marketing Manager of Cabana Marketing and Fantasy Sports Lounge Diana Persaud explained that this undertaking was the organisation’s way of giving back to the community.
“We commenced this project in March 2024 and we are so happy that it’s finally completed so that we can hand this over to the Mahdia community.” She revealed that the organisation will invest in a similar facility in Lethem, Region Nine (Upper Takutu- Upper Essequibo).
Mayor of Mahdia, Eslyn Hussain was optimistic that the facility will significantly enhance the community.

“The installation of the play and outdoor gym has significantly enhanced our oval ground undoubtfully, bringing joy and gratitude to the children of Mahdia and the surrounding communities by providing a secure and enjoyable recreational space.”
Moreover, she expressed that this endeavor has the potential to strengthen the people of Mahdia as they utilise the facility to spend quality time together.
Sharing similar views as the mayor was Kym Douglas, a representative of Movement Family Hotel and Bar, who played an integral role in the development of the initiative.
“This park represents more than just a recreational space; it is a symbol of community, collaboration, and a commitment to the well-being of our children and residents. To the residents of Mahdia, I ask for your assistance in caring for this park.”
Douglas also revealed a significant idea to protect and conserve the park’s surroundings.
“Together, we can ensure that this park remains safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone. In light of this, I recommend to the Mahdia Council that a fence be built around the park and a security guard be permanently placed to assist with daily monitoring.”
She emphasised that these measures will help maintain the park’s integrity and ensure safety for all users.
