72 new COVID-19 cases recorded

The Ministry of Health is reporting that Guyana recorded 72 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This now takes the total number of confirmed cases to 1306.

Based on the figures released, 12 persons are now housed in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) while 718 recoveries have been recorded.

Of the total cases, 646 are males while 660 are females. The Ministry claims that 87 persons are in Institutional Isolation while 451 are in Home Isolation.

129 persons are in Institutional Quarantine and the death toll is now 41. Thus far, 8510 tests have been administered.
