A 74-year-old man was on Wednesday taken into custody after he was busted with a quantity of ganja during a cordon-and-search exercise conducted at 111 Miles Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni).

Based on information received, detectives and other ranks of the Mahdia Police Station conducted a cordon-and-search exercise at the home of the suspect, during which a black plastic bag containing a quantity of ganja and $16,300 in cash was found. The suspect reportedly admitted ownership of the drug.
The ganja, when reportedly weighed in presence of the suspect, amounted to 356 grams. The suspect remains in custody, and is assisting with investigation.
