8 races carded for Kennard’s Memorial Boxing Day meet

The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club will once again host their annual Boxing Day horserace Meeting on Monday December 26 at the Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice racetrack.

The annual feature will see races galloping for distances of over six furlongs, seven and nine furlongs to win attractive prizes of up to one million, two hundred thousand dollars.
The organizers have declared that the races will be run under the rules of the Club including if less than five horses are registered, the club may cancel the event.
Eight races are carded including the B & lower W/A across nine fur longs for a top prize of $1,200,000. Prize payouts are set from first to fourth with $600,000, $300,000 and $150,000 respectively. Entries are $128,000.
In the L – Non-winner category, prizes are $130,000, $65,000, $32,000 and $16,000 for positions one to four respectively. Entry fee is set at $13,000 for the 5 furs distance race.
$60,000 is the set entrance fee in the 6 furs E & Lower race where $500,000 will be paid to the winner with second to fourth getting $250,000, $125,000 and $63,000 in that order.
In the West Indian Bred (Maiden) & Guyana Bred H1 and Lower 7 fur race, a $250,000 cash payout for the top horse is set and an entry of $28,000.
Two years Guyana Bred Maiden will race across 6 furs for $220,000 while L- Open Class running for 5 furlongs will try winning the $130,000 first prize and the J1 & Lower & two Years Guyana Bred will aim for the first prize pot of $180,000 in the 6 fur race and in the final race, a 7 fur sprint for $280,000 in the G1 & Lower class.
Entries close on Sunday, 18th December with no late entries being accepted.
