On Saturday evening, eight beauty ambassadors are expected to storm the stage at the Bartica Community Centre Ground, as they compete for the coveted title of Miss Bartica 2018. The delegates, all Barticians, are adding their final touches to their gowns and talent pieces to impress the judges on pageant night.
The eight delegates have already competed in the costume display, intelligence segment and the top model challenge. Those scores will be added to those on pageant night and will be used to determine the next Miss Bartica.
On pageant night, the eight contestants will compete in swimwear, evening gown, talent and the final question. At the end of the night, only one young woman will be bestowed the title of Miss Bartica. The judges for the evening will include former Miss Universe, Wendy Fitzwilliam.
Apart from the pageant, the audience will be entertained by the winners of the talent explosion that was held last week. These include Jermaine Joseph, Timothy Holder and Vanessa Beccles. The show gets underway at 20:00h. Tickets for the pageant cost $3000.
After the crowning of the queen, the road jams get busy. It will definitely be epic. However, the pageant is one of the attractions of the Bartica Regatta.
On Sunday, April 1, the power boat races take centre stage followed by the second day of power racing on Easter Monday. Bartica Regatta will culminate with the chutney/soca show on Monday evening featuring former International Chutney Monarch, KI and Barbadian Lil Rick.
