The Association do Shotokan Karate – Guyana (ASK-G) will host their 2018 National Championships at the YMCA Thomas Lands from 10:00h today.
There are 81 competitors competing for the title of “Champion” in 40 different Individual events. Age groups are: 5 and 6 years old, 7 and 8 years old, 9 to 11 years old, 12 to 14 years old, 15 to 17 years old and 18 years and older.
The various groups are:- Beginners, Intermediate and Brown and Black belts in the male and female divisions.

This 2018 Championship will start differently from previous years.
The first events will be the Brown and Black belts 18 years and older division the hottest division with Karatekas such as Roger Peroune, Keith Beaton, Malcolm Francis, Mahadeo Ramotar, Joel Kellman, D’Andre DaSilva, Jerry Santana-Bain and Angelo Harris.
Admission is free and all are invited.
