8lbs of ganja found during Police operation

A 42-year-old man was taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of ganja at his Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) home on Wednesday.
According to reports received, Police, acting on information, went to the home of the man where 3928 grams (8 lbs) of cannabis was discovered.
Police stated that on the day in question about 16:35h, the ranks swooped down on the home where they conducted a search during which two transparent wrapped parcels containing the illegal drug were found hidden in a barrel.
The suspect was told of the offence, cautioned, arrested, and escorted to the Fort Wellington Police Station, where he was processed for court. He is expected to make his court appearance today.
